Quarantined
Artist Statement:
After landing in Istanbul unaware of everything, a long wait started. "The buses I got on without knowing where I was taken in the city where I lived were the beginning of a 14-day experience" (Day 1).
QUARENTINED series as video and photo; It tells about the anxiety, anger, desire to return home, the in-between situation, the effort to escape and the state of despair of the people with whom I share the same experience.
The emotional state of the established borders varies according to the geography you grew up in.
Artist Biography:
Osman Özel comes from a cinema centred family, Özel. He continues his works with the photographer and director identity and is represented internationally by Shotview Artist Management. Special collaborations and commissions include Dazed, Revue, Replica man,Revue, Antidote, Numero Homme Berlin, Carven and Vogue Turkey OMM ( Odunpazarı Modern Art Museum).
