In the Attic

2020 has been year where the world has contracted. Isolation before lockdown has become heightened for millions. However, many women and girls are now edging towards invisibility, or have lost their lives through violence.

Watching from windows and fearing home terrorism from intimate partners or family members. They live in the new Victorian attic—she who is kept from sight.

These images reflect the disappearance emotionally and physically of women. Torn and distressed, the uncanny ghostly presence of woman is trapped inside the frames, trying to escape and then disappearing.
