PJ Party

Artist: Helly Fletcher

PJ Party exists is in the crossover of fine art, textile and film. The artist uses the language of thread to illustrate the experience of internal disintegration and the fragility of existence. The delicacy of the stitch is often in stark contrast with the themes portrayed in the images. The viewer is invited into the privacy of 'behind closed doors' events not normally discussed in public but experienced by many people.

Helly is a London based textile artist and completed a BA in Fine Arts at Central St Martins in 2004. She has since exhibited in group and solo shows both in the UK and in Holland and Turkey. She was awarded the Coates Award for Best International Artist at the Art of the Stitch. She is also a British Council artist
